ELMSFORD, N.Y. — Elmsford firefighters had a memorable Memorial Day as they helped deliver a baby.
The Elmsford Fire Department received a call Monday afternoon to dispatch an ambulance to Ichi Riki Restaurant, 1 East Main Street, for a woman in labor, Fire Chief Dave Signor said.
The baby was delivered in the back of the Fire Department’s new ambulance (58B-1) at the scene, Chief Signor said.
The mother, whose name was not released due to HIPAA regulations, was transported, with her baby, to Westchester Medical Center, following the delivery, Chief Signor said.
Members assisting with the birth were Chief Signor, Assistant Chief Nelson Diaz, Dept EMTs Damoy Green and Reynelson Diaz.
