At 1624 hours, Engine 137 and Ambulance 58B-1 were dispatched, with Tarrytown FD (dual response), to Route 87 northbound at the entrance to Route 287 eastbound for a tree on an occupied vehicle with entrapment.
Responding units found the sole occupant of the vehicle heavily entrapped by a tree at the call location.
With the use the Hurst Tool spreaders and cutter, Engine Company personnel completed a rapid extrication and transferred the patient to EMS for treatment and transport to the hospital.
Patient was transported to Westchester Medical Center by 58B-1, with Greenburgh ALS onboard.
Unfortunately the patient was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the Emergency Department.
State Police on the scene for investigation.
