At approximately 0720 hours Engine 137 and Ambulance 58B-1 were dispatched to the Sprain Brook Parkway in the vicinity of Route 287 for a multiple vehicle accident with ejections.
Chiefs 2111 and 2113 responded, coordinating scene management and patient care with Greenburgh Police EMS, Fairview and Valhalla Fire Depts who were already on the scene. While Engine 137 and Ambulance 58B-1 handled a two car accident with injuries on Route 287 near the Sprain Brook Parkway entrance ramp.
Sudden extremely icy conditions due to freezing rain and very cold weather resulted in very hazardous driving.
All units were back in service by 0930 hours.
