At 0328 hours, Ambulance 58B-1 was dispatched to 99 Sears Ave. for an unresponsive male.
Upon arrival, the responding chief’s personal CO detector immediately went into alarm, indicating 382 Parts Per Million, Carbon Monoxide. He then requested Ambulance 58B-2, Engine 237 and Ladder 55, while evacuating the entire structure.
After evaluating all of the occupants, two additional ambulances were requested: Tarrytown VAC and Valhalla VAC. Valhalla was cancelled while enroute.
A total of 10 patients were transported to Westchester Medical Center by 58B-1, Greenburgh EMS and Tarrytown VAC.
Con Edison responded to the scene and red tagged a hot water heater as well as the furnace.
Note: 58B-2 responded to another EMS run after completing the above assignment.
